Rated by Dale Robertson, RNSYS Handicapper, July 8, 2022. This boat has a tiny fixed sprit at the bow that facilitates Asymmetrical gybes. Per handicap committee members there are other boats that carry asymmetrical spinnakers without suffering what history shows used to be a penalty but for some reason that penalty is not at present part of the current list of adjustments so it would be unfair to institute it for this boat. Otherwise the boat is standard, with a fractional rig and masthead spinnaker. It is being rated the same as the other 2 J100 boats, Dog Party and Young Blood. They are both provisionally rated as will be this boat, but in my opinion the issue of carrying A-kites requires review as on reaching legs an A-kite is very valuable. |
