108 0 0 0 0 0 0 108 120 Yes Rated by Dale Robertson, RNSYS Handicapper, October 10 2024. The boat was modified by having a shoal draft keel instead of a more normal keel. There were only half a dozen of this boat ever produced. A review of similar boats for which ratings existed suggested a rating of 102 for the standard boat and a difference of 6 points for the shoal draft keel. 10-10-2024
105 0 0 0 0 0 0 105 117 Yes Changes made June 2024 by Dale Robertson using information gathered and analyzed by Rod Stright following correspondence with Erwin, the owner. The J is 12’ for the Reliance 12 meter The SPL for the Reliance 12-meter ODR is 13’ so a foot longer and that is the boat we are dealing with. Erwin’s proposal is to move the tack point for the Asymmetrical 3’8” ahead of the existing tack point creating an effective SPL of 16’8” which represents an increase of 1.281 or an increase of 28.1% over the existing SPL of 13’. Our adjustment for adding an asymmetrical on a fractional boat in place of a symmetrical (#23) s a + 6 and the increase in SPL is 30% (# 29) which represents and adjustment of -9. The net is a -3 to Fireball’s racing for the increase in SPL. Recommendations: Provisional rating of 105 be approved for the addition of the asymmetrical as the only spinnaker and an increased SPL of 30%. 27-06-2025
